Conveniently situated near Snow Summit, Bear Mountain, Oktoberfest, the village, and the lake, Rainbow Forest Retreat is perfect for skiers, snowboarders, hikers, mountain bikers, and anyone seeking a relaxing getaway.

The spacious 1,800 square foot, two-level cabin is perfect for families and pets, with fully fenced front and back yards for safety and fun. Mountain bikers will love the convenience of a bike rack and tools for their adventures. Inside, enjoy fun entertainment like an arcade cocktail table and amenities like a luxurious rain shower in the master bathroom. A portable air conditioning/heating unit is available upstairs for extra comfort. Plus, with a tankless water heater, you’ll never have to worry about running out of hot water.

Parking is easy with space for three cars in the driveway. We’ve thought of everything to make your stay feel like home, including towels (bath, hot tub, and lake), cozy bedding with fresh linens, extra blankets, and even toys for the kids. As a selected host, we also receive complimentary products for our guests that you will get the opportunity to explore and try.

Our cabin is meticulously cleaned and sanitized by a PROFESSIONAL service after every stay, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene for your comfort and peace of mind. From spotless surfaces to freshly laundered linens, you can relax knowing your space is professionally prepared just for your stay.

The bed configurations are made up of 7 beds, though some are designed with children in mind. For adults, there’s a King bed in the master bedroom with a comfortable Muse Sleep mattress, a Queen bed downstairs, a futon, and a full-size bed on the bottom bunk. For the kids, there’s a top bunk that sleeps one child and a trundle bed that can accommodate two more upstairs.

The back deck is the ultimate hangout spot, featuring an 8-person hot tub, ample outdoor seating, fun games like a giant Connect 4, Jenga and axe throwing, and even a dedicated cigar/poker room. The front porch, equipped with a propane BBQ, is perfect for playing in the snow or enjoying your morning coffee while watching the birds and squirrels.

There is absolutely no smoking inside the cabin (use the cigar room).

Please note that the listed price includes 6 adults or less to accommodate smaller groups. There is an additional cost of $25 per person, per day for any guest count between 7 to 10 in total. Pet fee is $100, and no more than 3 dogs are allowed.

You'll have access to the entire cabin.

While not available in person, the host is always available by phone, email and text.

The area is very forested but also very close to amenities.

You are able to walk to the trolley stop. Uber and Lyft is also available.

Big Bear Snow Play, offering winter tubing and summer Go Karts, is within walking distance. The nearby Wyatt's Convention Center (also within walking distance) hosts evening entertainment, the famous Oktoberfest, and great food and drinks. Just a few blocks away is the town favorite, Pickle’s Pie Shop!

The rest of Big Bear is accessible within a 10 minute drive. There is so much to explore such as the village, golf course, Alpine zoo, Discovery Center, hikes, mountain biking, Bear Mountain, Snow Mountain and of course all of the lake amenities.

Getting to the lake in the summertime is a must-do! You can enjoy boating, fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, waterskiing and much more. Don't think of Big Bear for winter activities only because summer offers a cool break from summer heat with hiking, biking and lots of adventures.

Please note there is no cable TV. There are 3 total TVs with plenty of movies and a Smart TV in the main room.

We do provide firewood available for purchase. Cost is $10 a day and you can pay cash right at the cabin in a box provided by the wood burning stove. This is much cheaper than purchasing bundles of wood in the stores.

This was our second visit to Big Bear, our first visit to Rainbow Retreat. Rainbow Retreat was on another level of vacation homes. I communicated with Kristin, she was so kind and attentive. The property was so well laid out for our family. Tons of entertainment from a pool table, axe throwing, dvds, board games, a huge spa and much more. The kitchen was fully stocked with every appliance, utensils, spices and complimentary snacks. The neighborhood felt safe, was quiet and within minutes of restaurants, grocery stores, the lake, movie theater and the bowling alley. We could've honestly just spent our vacation at the home. Checkout was easy, no unreasonable requests, just the basic " leave the home in a similar condition as you arrived" We will definitely be booking again for our next summer vacation!

I've stayed at Big Bear multiple times and in different cabins. This one is the best one yet! The kitchen was fully stocked, with all the silverware, plates, pots and pans, they even had all the spices!! The beds were very clean and comfortable. The place is equipped with entertainment for every age and taste. The welcome binder was extremely organized with detailed instructions and suggestions. I LOVED spending time in the family room watching movies, with the wood burning stove lit behind us. We came in right after a snow storm, so the cabin was surrounded with over 3ft of snow, which gave my kiddos a chance to just play out in the front yard for hours without leaving our driveway! We truly enjoyed our time there and definitely look forward to coming back.

Not only were all of the amenities well thought out, there were great little "extras" throughout the home as well. (Even for our dog!). 5 Stars and A+++ all the way. My family and I had a great stay here. The place was exactly as listed and had everything you could want for a comfortable and fun stay...comfortable beds, great indoor and outdoor spaces to gather and relax and activities/games that kept our 7year old entertained. The hosts were very communicative and offered a few tips for eating out and things to do. We went as a last minute get away but we do hope to be back to be better able to enjoy. We had not planned to go to it beforehand, but the house was walkable to the Oktoberfest that was going on as well as a few nearby places to eat. The supermarket was a short drive away. The back yard was a perfect place to just sit back and enjoy the sunny day. I can't say enough about this place because it really does seem the hosts thought of every possible way to make staying here feel like a home away from home. We go to Big Bear at least once a year but usually twice every summer to escape the Vegas heat. We always stay at a different cabin each time. This was our first time going with another family and the first time taking our dog. We had 4 adults, 4 kids, and a dog. So we were a little stressed about how it would go. This is a great cabin. Not huge but tons of amenities. You can tell the host really took the time to think about every aspect of having guests stay there. Everything you need is already there for you. The pool table was a hit. My wife and I were the only ones to get into the hot tub one time for about 20min but the hot tub is huge and nice. The fire pit is a little tricky to use the first time but also a great feature. Even the games outside and board games inside were a nice touch. I’m about to run out of space so beds were comfortable and the only knock is that parking is super tight and limited for us having 2 range rovers. Other than that loved the place.

Thanks to Kristin for an early check in which allowed us to get settle before heading to a Music In the Mountain concert. The 3 bedroom house was spacious for my family. We cooked and BBQ’d during our stay. The kitchen is well stocked, the bbq is great. We enjoyed the hot tub during our stay. I recommend watching the YouTube via the QR code provided in the house manual. It told us the proper setting to raise the water temperature. Kristin put together a very detailed manual which provided info on all aspects of the home. It’s very helpful. Kristin also left us a few treats which were a very nice surprise. Rooms and the kitchen were spacious clean and very well organized for us to feel like if we were at our own home. Rainbow Forest Retreat was by far the most warm, welcoming, and thorough AirBnB my family has ever stayed at. Even though when we first arrived, there was a (super rare) power outage, Kristin communicated with us throughout and kept us informed of all updates for the six hours it was out for. She also informed us of how to keep the place warm using the fire wood, and went above and beyond in accommodating for us to ensure we were warm and safe. The property itself has QR codes throughout with videos answering any question one may have, and everything was put so much thought and detail into. The amount of amenities and activities there are for littles is astounding, and each and every family member can enjoy themselves young and old! Definitely this has made its way into our rotation, and will be our go-to for our Big Bear visits!

The pre-check out message was a little alarming and made me nervous about extra cleaning charges, etc., but it sounds like a real motley crew rent here so they just need to cover their bases. I've also never had an owner ask for my email and cell phone number, so that seemed odd. I questioned it and it was explained it was for emergencies. Still odd! Definitely a great location for a family retreat with kids/teens. I think it's a more difficult layout for multiple couples, etc. Upstairs bathroom is very tiny! Not much around walking distance, etc. but we had a car and groceries. Great memory making!

This was one of the best airbnb experiences that I have had. We had to reschedule our booking due to the forest fires in the area and the host was extremely responsive and accommodating. Very responsive hosts, were very thorough with instructions with a Welcome book, QR Codes on how to use items like the heater, Jacuzzi, and where the breakers are in case it’s needed. I would love to come back in the winter time for snowboarding. There were few issues at all, plenty of towels and board games. This place has everything you’ll need! I’m already looking forward to my next stay. Only issue i had was having to wipe the outside tables down, but that’s expected in a mountainous area, especially outdoors. They loved all the things they had at the house to entertain, including the pool table, axe throwing, and spa! We can not say enough good things about the Rainbow Forest Retreat. We rented Rachel's house for 4 nights over Christmas. When we first walked in we found the house was decorated for the holidays, Christmas tree and all. The kitchen is stocked with all necessities we needed and then some. The special treats were an added surprise. The bedrooms are roomy and the beds are very comfortable. We enjoyed relaxing in the jacuzzi, playing pool and games while there. They strategically place around the home for guests to keep. The hot tub works great. The yard is spacious. Came up for four days with my fiancé and let me tell you, this is by far the best experience we’ve had in such a long time! Not only is the cabin gorgeous but it was fully stocked and ready to go for us. There were so many extra goodies left out as well and that was so sweet and different from anywhere else! This house is amazing! Anything you could need it has. It’s in walking distance go the Big Bear Snow Play and a local cafe (probably more too, that’s just where we went). We had our close friend Christmas celebration of 9 and it was just the right size. Even figured out a way to all be around the kitchen table for our holiday dinner. We wanted to go somewhere quiet and peaceful where we could just get away for a bit even though we are still needing to distance during COVID-19. This place was absolutely perfect! For the younger kids, there were a ton of board games, two gaming systems, and a ton of movies, as well as a fenced in front yard and a wonderful rock painting project! For the older kids, there was a pool table, a TV with video apps, and also a great variety of movies on disc. We could take a walk around the neighborhood and it was a short trip by car to the store or to some great trails. For a small kitchen, it was so well stocked with cookware, etc., we didn't want for anything. The smart oven is really nifty too and made cooking big meals a breeze. The host is so great at checking in to see if we needed anything and the welcome book is so well organized and has so many helpful hints and tips for the area. Thank you so much, Rachel!

We booked this cute little home for my brother-in-law's 50th birthday! It was such a nice way for our families to celebrate together. The home had everything so we didn't really need to leave the space. Rachel was an awesome host who made sure we were having a good time, communicated well with me up until our trip and throughout our stay. When we arrived, there was a welcome basket that included a thoughtful birthday hat for my BIL. The clean, cozy space has a pool table, hot tub, cigar room, projector & screen to watch outdoors, lots of board games & puzzles, kid's books & toys, a BBQ, and a fire pit. Unfortunately the fire pit wasn't working at the time, but Rachel let us know ahead of time & we didn't mind at all. The location of the home is close to everything so we didn't have to go far to find any outdoor activities. We can't wait to come back again!

The hot tub is awesome and the fire pit is a plus. But the amenities the house offers was a our TOP favorite. The Muse bed, Nebula projector, June oven, smart TV and the endless movies are a few to mention. A really short walk to the convention center which meant we didn't have to deal with parking and or uber. The house was even better in person than expected. I cannot express enough how AMAZING our experience was at Rachel's cabin. A group of 8 of us stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of October for my 29th birthday. I had mentioned to Rachel that it was my birthday trip and upon arrival a welcome basket with birthday items were waiting for me. This was just the icing on the cake - such a thoughtful touch, I was so excited and thankful! The cabin itself was perfect for us. The layout of the cabin was spacious and so comfortable. We took FULL advantage of the pool table while relaxing next to the fireplace. The outside deck is HUGE with a fabulous hot tub and gorgeous fire pit. The hot tub was the perfect temperature every night despite the cold weather outside. We loved the cigar room and spent a couple of nights playing poker and sharing tons of laughs. The master bedroom upstairs has the most comfortable bed that I have EVER slept in...Rachel, please let me know what kind of mattress that is. I slept like a baby. We will definitely be back to this cabin, as it is our new favorite in Big Bear. Thank you to Rachel for all of her hospitality, and for being so responsive and helpful with local tips. If you're like me and you can't deside on a place to book without looking at every, single available property... JUST STOP AND BOOK THIS CABIN! You will not be disappointed.. We made a very last minute booking, checking in on a Sunday.. Rachel had guests checking out that day and had to check with her cleaning company to make sure the house could be cleaned.. She was on top of it right away and of course made sure we would have a great stay. Knowing guests were checking out right before us, we were concerned about propane for the grill and the outdoor table... But of course Rachel has several full tanks in the "cigar room" for back up.. Eventually we stopped asking "do you think they have have (blank)..." We just started looking for it because we quickly realised the cabin is equipped with EVERYTHING you will need, just bring your clothes. Since we couldn't check in early (something we didn't even expect) Rachel added 2hrs to our check-out time which we greatly appreciated because it was so hard to leave.. The king bed upstairs is amazing!! It's like NASA grade memory foam and was the most impressive mattress I've ever seen.. The check-in process is literally just show up and unlock the door.. Rachel will send you an invite to unlock the door with an app on your phone! We were visiting for my birthday and Rachel put a bottle of wine out for us.. Not sure if she does that for everyone, but it was touching to us. We tried to come up with something negative to say just for fairness sake, but there is literally nothing to complain about. We were so thrilled with our choice to book Rachel's cabin that we didn't want to go home.. We will definitely stay here again if we go back to Big Bear!

This was such a relaxing mountain weekend - just what my entire family needed! We did the snow tubing at night in the glowing lights - how fun! And we were able to walk to the tubing hill from the cabin and not have to worry about parking hassles! We ate lunch one day at Sonora Cantina and tasted the wine at Barrel 33 while the kids at their sweet treats at the shop next door. Everything is so conveniently located within minutes from the cabin. Our last full day was magical with a fresh falling of snow, a fire in the woodburning stove, a soak in the hot tub and a movie with popcorn on the couch. We can't wait to try skiing and snowboarding next time - I had no idea the mountain was so close! Thank you for a perfect weekend!
